Step 6: Floor Joists

After the supports are in place we put in the floor joists.  Why I- joists instead of 2×12’s?  I-joists are actually stronger and they do not warp or twist like 2×12’s.   Adair uses LP’s I-joists because they have the widest flanges in the industry to help eliminate pops and squeaks.  You can read more about them here: http://www.lpcorp.com/i-joists/
